Great style and an interesting story, the artwork is nothing short of superb. The gameplay is a tad slow, and could use a few extra features (possibly adding a money system and let you upgrade your gear, maybe using other methods to kill off harder to reach targets etc. etc.) but is otherwise a very solid shooter.
One thing that I have to gripe about is the title actually, and even then it doesn't hurt the game; However it is rather redundant to say "Anaksha: Female Assassin" as it becomes obvious very early on that she is, in fact, female and an assassin. The story of a woman defending poor souls and abused wives is very powerful and tragic, and indeed speaks for itself. But it seems like you are reaching a bit when you try to spin the idea of a female assassin as being groundbreaking or extraordinary. There have been female assassins prevalent since ancient culture, and even in recent times such as the famous (or infamous if you are on the wrong side) female snipers in the Russian Army of WWII, so instead of trying to use the whole female assassin thing in the title as the catch, you could have just left it at "Anaksha" or add something about vengeance or justice (Throwing the word "Angel" in the title could be good, like angel of mercy or angel of death or what have you, it implies she is female and adds more of a creative element.)
Sorry for the long-windedness about a minute detail, I'm a brand new English professor, I can't help it!

Thanks for your review. I understand the points you've made regarding the title. Yes there were many female assassins in WWII, but unfortunately they're not very well known in today's popular culture (which is sad). The same goes for the video game culture - too many male assassins, and the females just seem to be sex symbols and nothing else. I think the title itself is an attraction and once people know who she is, then I can get more creative with titles. And yes "Angel Of Death" would have been the better name, but strangely enough thats actually the name of the original screenplay which this character was taken from! :)

The effort involved is apparent, many sprite animations fall dreadfully short of their potential due to cutting corners that make the animation less fluid and more obvious that the objects are just being tweened back and forth.
You could improve by making the movies slightly longer, or perhaps adding new and dynamic camera angles. It's really up to you, the sky is the limit and you have myriad potential.
Keep at it! I hope your submission does well, I'll vote it up when I can.

The only real difficulty in the game didn't arise from the obstacles themselves or figuring out how to pass by, but rather the sloppy collision zones that were setup in the mechanics, things would kill you that simply shouldn't have (I.E. a swinging axe that basically takes up the whole ceiling so you can't jump even when it should be safe to) or as others have said the pit bug where you would fall even though you were completely safe.
Another problem is the rolling wasn't definite enough, it's like a mix between standing and safety.
This game had a lot of potential but ultimately there was an obvious lack of time committed to the oh-so-necessary details that take a game from okay to great.

lack of time? No...

(I won't suck my own dick too much here if I can help it, but I'd like to point out where this criticism is coming from)
I've been doing animation as a career for about a year now (only 19, I'm not old at all myself *brushes shoulder off*) and I want you to know if I'd been reasonably talented like you are 6 years ahead I'd be a god by now.
Your animation here may not be too involved or original but when I read you were just 13 I laughed a bit, just thinking about how great you could be by the time you get to the age when most people START learning how to work programs like flash.
My advice? If you haven't already, start picking up how to work photoshop cs and learn HTML code. By the time you are 20 you could be the IT guy or animator for any company you want.
Go for it!
P.S. if you aren't 13 and I'm just thick, well keep at it anyway!

Im not 13,

And thanks.
BTW - I already know Photoshop and HTML.

Sorry, not evil enough, you really gotta take it a step further than just that.
Author's Response:
We really were not going for evil. On the stingray king, Onic wanted Steve impailed on his stinger but he got outvoted.
Would've gave people more a reason to bitch, but they seemed to not need a reason anyways, haha.
